Type Locality and Naming

Along the well of Dzhanaikmet, the mountains of Aristanta, Central Kyzylkum. N.M. Larin, 1989 (495, p. 48). Stratotype on the southern slope of Aristantau.

Synonym: Dzhanahmet Suite, Джанахметская св.

Lithology and Thickness

Fine-grained limestones, clotted-nodular, detrital, aphanitic, layered and variegated with layers of unevenly dolomitized limestones and pale dolomites. Thickness 217-401m.

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Aristantau-Central Fm

Conformably overlain by the Aznek Fm.

Regional extent

Central Kyzylkum, the mountains of Aristantau. It is an analogue of the upper part of the Belikuduk Fm (165; 495).

Contains foraminifera - Paraturammina suleimanovi Lip., Tuberitina malavkini Mikhl., Bisphaera irregularis Bir.; stromatoporoids - Labechia cf. kurganensis Yavor,, Rosenella irregularis Yavor., Parastylostroma huanjiangensis Don.; brachiopods Cyrtospirifer verneuili Murch., C. archiaci Murch., C. pamiricus Reed.; conodonts Polygnathus gradata Bryanf., Apathognathus sp., Polylophodonta linguiformis Brans. et Mehl. and others, characterizing the Famennian deposits.
